#SayNoToXenophobia: Xenophobia in South Africa

#NoToXenophobia: Xenophobia in South Africa

"People learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love"- Nelson Mandela.

Attacking those from other countries who come seek refuge or do business in our country, that is discrimination and exclusion! Why is our differences make us fight one another? Is it that we are soaked in poverty, anger, and that South Africa have never been a democratic state? Now that there is democracy and Africa is back, what is it that we do to embrace it with all the power that is in our hands? South Africa, be careful not to become the monsters that you once won against. Xenophobia in South Africa, https://goo.gl/o1YYiKChasing foreigners away would not give you a degree or a job,  https://goo.gl/MFMwcfI personally am against xenophobia.
“We urge all foreigners to pack their bags and leave"- Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini.

Does it make it easy for the practice of corporate social media?

Xenophobic attacks in South Africa in 2017.

Xenophobia makes it difficult for the practise of corporate social media. This is because both people who are for and against xenophobia will discuss the topic negatively. People were condemning the march and on the other side, and some were condemning the foreigners https://goo.gl/PVJjz7. The formula to be used to interpret sentiment would not present a clear picture of how many people are for and against the conversation on social media. This gives PR opportunity to plan and decides on the methods of how to measure issues on social media.

Do you want to know about the advantages? Now you can!

Many people will know about it and be able to engage in the conversation. This means increased communication. It can be argued that social media platforms are an elite left-leaning which excludes much of the debate. They do condenses a very complex issue into understandable conversation, https://goo.gl/NrtdXt. On the other hand, it helps PRPs break down who is engaging in the conversation and how it makes them feel. Easy integration!

Know more about the disadvantages of xenophobia

How xenophobia has affected South Africa's economy.
On the other side, it can break down the emotions of the users of social media, https://goo.gl/28cyhm. These xenophobic attacks have hurt foreign investor confidence of South Africa. In other words, they've led to suffering of this country's economic growth. Currently, South Africa cannot invest in some other foreign countries. It may have billions of mineral resources, but still they need to invest in other countries for the economy's  survival and the country itself to develop. Xenophobia really did cost South Africa a bad reputation.

#BlackLivesMatter: Killing Of Black People

#BlackLivesMatter: Killing of Black People

"Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor it must be demanded by the oppressed"-Martin Luther King.
Black lives matter movement emphasizes the need to educate all people concerning the extrajudicial killings of black people and law enforcement authorities across the country https://goo.gl/FJk9uX. Unaccountable deaths of black men have formed the Black Lives Matter movement. Killings of black people, https://goo.gl/GYRL4M

Does it make it easy or difficult for the social media?

#BlackLivesMatter march
Black Lives Matter does not mean that black lives matters more than others. This movement is  focused on putting a stop to the killing of black people by the police. So if that is the focus then why would people carry "alllivesmatter" signs? https://goo.gl/fkF4xb. This hash tag makes it difficult for PR to measure engagement. I have rarely come across a PR agency that is really good at using necessary tools for measurement and analysis https://goo.gl/nNQZNc. Blacks still remain to be at high risk of being targeted for killings than white people. This is just the truth behind the black lives matter movement.

Some of the advantages includes:

A wider spread coverage of content. Many people will participate in the conversation.
#AllLivesMatters but at the moment it's blacks'.

It allows mostly the young people to be inspired to make differences in their communities and become better persons tomorrow. However, the movement is more focused on achieving its guiding mission. It makes others be aware that racism still exists,https://goo.gl/gNVEbD. It gives black youth to know what to fight for and give the knowledge about Civil Rights. Finally it gives PR opportunity to discover where the engagement comes from.

Some of the disadvantages includes:

Am I next to be killed?
Do Black Lives Matter? Yes they do, but many critics showed that black lives do not matter more than the others. Why is it that whenever blacks promote this message, say they are aggressive and putting the black people on a pedestal? This is because many people do not understand what Black Lives Matter movement is about. They  also argue that this Black Lives Matter movement has done more harm than good with its efforts in promoting the causes, https://goo.gl/HT6sv5. It creates division among people. And some people who are against this movement feel offended.
